To ensure an accurate aim it also has a laser light sighting. How effective is it then? Depending on the disposition of the cat bothering you, you may be able to repel it from your window rather than having to chase it like a raving banshee around the garden, it really does make a hell of a racket when on the sonic setting. Our verdict. In truth we think the Mega Sonic Scatter Cat is a bit gimmicky, because it does not offer a permanently hostile environment, however, it certainly moves the cats on and if you are of a certain disposition it really is a hell of a lot of fun. It should preferably be bought in conjunction with a garden pest repeller that can offer 24 hour protection, rather than it being the primary device used to repel cats.
