Trap your pest by covering it with the clear catching compartment on a reasonably flat surface with the shutter open. Then twist so the shutter falls (you may need to push the shutter down depending on how smooth the wall surface is) and the insect is trapped inside the catching compartment. The insect can then be easily released outside.

Traps insects at arms length.
